Ex-Moldovan prime minister Filat sentenced to 9 years in prison

Court in Chisinau sentenced former Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat to a total of nine years in prison.

On Monday, the court has pronounced a verdict against Filat on two charges. He was sentenced to eight years in prison on one charge, nine years - on the second charge.

The judge is reading out a verdict during a court session, which is under way behind closed doors.
