Brexit may simplify Ukraine's path towards integration with EU
The UK's decision to leave the European Union will create the need to change the procedure of functioning of European institutions, which may simplify Ukraine's path to becoming an EU member, Marshal of the Polish Sejm Marek Kuchcinski has said.
"If we are speaking about the future, first and foremost the European future, abut what will happen in connection with Great Britain's decision, I believe that this creates the need and gives an opportunity to make changes to the functioning of European institutions, such as the European Parliament and the European Commission. This opens up an opportunity to make changes into the relevant provisions, which would simplify Ukraine's path to the common, united Europe, to the European integration," he said at a joint briefing with Verkhovna Rada chairman Andriy Parubiy on Sunday in the town of Truskavets, Lviv region, commenting on the results of the talks of the two parliaments' delegations.
In this connection we agreed that we would work on this matter. I hope our work will bring good results," Kuchcinski said.
