Health reform strategy will be presented in Ukraine soon
The Ukrainian government in the near future will present the health reform strategy, which provides for the transition to the system of financing health services, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said.
"Changing the system of funding the health care sector, transferring to financing health services in the future, involving health insurance in this sector, recognizing all treatment protocols that exist in the country, introducing state standards – this way we can form a new health care system in Ukraine," Groysman said at a working breakfast with representatives of business circles in New York.
Groysman noted the government had decided on deregulation of the pharmaceutical market in Ukraine. In particular, it simplified registration of medicines produced and consumed in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia and Japan.
According to him, up to now about five or six companies "have controlled the market with non-market methods" in Ukraine and prevented imports of drugs from abroad.
