Ukrainian govt sets aside UAH 227 mln for Donbas reconstruction in 2016
Rebuilding infrastructure in Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2016 will cost UAH 227 million out of the total reconstruction budget of UAH 5.8 billion, under a government priority action plan for 2016.
"Infrastructure that needs to be restored in the first place requires UAH 5.8 billion (UAH 1.73 billion in Donetsk region and UAH 4 billion in Luhansk region). In 2016, UAH 227 million are allocated for these purposes," according to the plan, which was approved and published on the government's official website on June 10.
According to the results of an assessment of the peace and reconstruction effort in Ukraine, rebuilding infrastructure and providing social services will cost roughly $1.258 billion, restoring the economy – $135.5 million, according to the government plan.
