Lutsenko arrives at High Council of Justice meeting, included in judge appointment section
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko took part in a meeting of the High Council of Justice on Thursday, June 9, for the first time.
It is the first Lutsenko's time to arrive at the meeting as a member of the High Council of Justice since he has been appointed prosecutor general.
Head of the High Council of Justice Ihor Benedysiuk handed a collar over to the prosecutor general and included him to the section for appointment and dismissal of judges.
On May 12, the Verkhovna Rada backed the nomination by Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko to appoint leader of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction Yuriy Lutsenko as prosecutor general of Ukraine.
