Poroshenko denies that Savchenko release involved secret agreements
No territorial claims were made in exchange for the return of Nadia Savchenko from Russia, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"It's utter nonsense. Do you think anyone can set me, the president of Ukraine, tasks or discusses some territorial claims. I want to deny that, and I can say that any information that there are some alleged secret 'protocols of the wise men of Zion,' involved in Nadia Savchenko release are false," Poroshenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
"I reiterate that everything took place confidentially, only because breaking this confidentiality regime could have prevented Nadia's release," the president said.
