Rada approves bill facilitating medicine registration
The Verkhovna Rada has approved a bill facilitating the registration of medicines produced and used in countries with strong regulatory practices.
A total of 239 lawmakers on May 31, 2016 backed bill No. 4484 amending Article 9 of the law on medicines (with respect to state registration [re-registration] of medicinal products).
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman wrote on his Facebook page that the decision would help to finally destroy artificially created obstacles for imports of foreign medicines to Ukraine and make medicines for citizens cheaper.
According to a posting on the website of Ukraine's Health Ministry, the simplified registration applies to the medicines made and used in the countries with strong regulatory authorities: the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Switzerland and the European Union. The term for registering these medicines is reduced to 10 working days.
