Ukrainian border guards will get higher wages from May
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated the increase in wages of border guards would start in May.
"Today I am glad to inform you the Ukrainian government has executed the decision of the National Security and Defense Council. Yesterday the finance minister, at my insistence, submitted a relevant proposal for the transfer of the date of payments to May. Border guards should receive increased wages from May," Poroshenko said at the events dedicated to the Day of Border Guard of Ukraine.
He stressed border guards should receive not less than UAH 7,000, while wages of lieutenant-colonels will amount to UAH 16,000.
The president also asked Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Viktor Nazarenko to control proper payments and report to him personally.
