Tymoshenko: Development of bill on elections in occupied Donbas almost completed
The development of a draft law on local elections in the territory of Donbas not controlled by Ukraine has been almost completed, Head of the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction Yulia Tymoshenko has stated.
"I know the development of a draft law on elections in the occupied territories has almost come to an end. I underline: not on the territories released after occupation but in the occupied territories. This means that, without finishing the war the Russian Federation is conducting against Ukraine, they want to carry out "democratic elections to local authorities" in the territories occupied by Russian armed gangs," she said at a briefing in Kyiv.
According to Tymoshenko, if the president of Ukraine submits a corresponding bill prior to liberation of the occupied territories of Donbas, this would mean "the surrender of these territories."
