Shuster evades individuals' income tax of over UAH 2.1 mln
Journalist, TV presenter Savik Shuster has not provided tax authorities with a declaration of income and evaded paying individual income tax in excess of UAH 2.1 million, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has said.
"It was found out that Savik Shuster, who has been living in Ukraine since 2005, in 2008, receiving an interest-bearing loan in the amount of EUR 1.34 million, has not repaid it to the lender on time. In violation of law of Ukraine No. 889-VI on individual income tax, dated May 22, 2003, Shuster has not provided the tax authorities at the place of residence with a declaration of income and evaded payment of individual income tax in excess of UAH 2.1 million, which is qualifies as 'large scale' (tax evasion)," reads a posting on the official Facebook page of the Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
As reported, the financial investigations department of the State Fiscal Service in Kyiv is investigating criminal proceedings, reordered in the unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 2 and Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on the fact of deliberate tax evasion against Canadian citizen Savik Shuster and against the officials of Savik Shuster Studio LLC.
