Association Agreement with Ukraine de facto takes effect – EU
The EU-Ukraine Association Agreement has preliminarily taken effect despite the Dutch referendum, European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Commissioner Johannes Hahn said.
Twenty-seven EU member countries have ratified the association agreement with Ukraine. The Netherlands has preliminarily ratified that agreement, so it could be said that the agreement has preliminarily taken effect, Hahn said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Now the European Council should decide what to do next. Hahn said that Ukraine and the EU could cooperate even under the current circumstances.
