Russia security fails to give NYT interview on Poroshenko's behalf – press secretary
The Russian security services made an attempt to give an interview to The New York Times edition on behalf of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the latter's press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko wrote on his page on Facebook on Tuesday evening.
"Due to a false letter they [Russian security services] attempted to organize an interview with The New York Times on behalf of President Petro Poroshenko]. They handled phone numbers and e-mails of their agents on paper with a false masthead, held talks and even gave 'answers' to questions by phone," reads the report.
Tseholko said that the journalists of the US newspaper checked the authenticity of statements attributed to Poroshenko with the Ukrainian president's press service. As a result, he said, "the fake interviews weren't released."
