Poroshenko signs decree dismissing Ukrainian Prosecutor General Shokin
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that he has signed a decree dismissing Viktor Shokin from the post of prosecutor general and plans to hold consultations with the parliamentary factions regarding the candidacy of a new chief of the supervisory agency.
"I would like to note that after the last Tuesday's vote, the documents have been received from the Verkhovna Rada on Friday and a decree dismissing Viktor Shokin from the post of prosecutor general has been signed. As of today, he is dismissed by my decree," the head of state said in an interview with the Ukrainian television stations aired on Sunday evening.
