Court sentences Savchenko to 22 years in penal colony
The Donetsk City Court of the Rostov region sentenced Ukrainian pilot Nadia Savchenko, who is indicted in the assassination case of Russian journalists, to 22 years in a penal colony.
The sentence by the collegium of judges holds this, an Interfax correspondent reports.
Additionally, the term during which Savchenko has been kept under arrest since June 30, 2014, has been counted as penalty.
Thus, Savchenko is due to serve a term of 20 years in a penal colony.
