'Savchenko list' remains on EU agenda – Poroshenko
Making a list of sanctions against individuals involved in the illegal detention and trial of Ukrainian servicewoman and MP Nadia Savchenko is fully supported by Ukraine’s international allies, Ukraine's head of state Petro Poroshenko has said.
"This topic is on the agenda of the EU. I think that the story will get bigger in Ukraine and internationally," Poroshenko said.
He made the comments during a meeting with Savchenko's lawyers Ilya Novikov, Nikolai Polozov, and Mark Feygin on Tuesday in Kyiv, the presidential press service reported.
Speaking of this so-called "Savchenko list", Poroshenko said extensive consultations were needed to introduce the new sanctions.
"The whole world knows about "Magnitsky list". It is absolutely justified for there to be a "Savchenko list" as well."
