Ukrainian Defense Ministry says complete mine clearance in Donbas will take 15 years
Considerable financial resources and no less than ten to fifteen years are required for the complete mine clearance in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, head of the group coordinating bomb-threat response of the Department of Environmental Safety and Mine Action of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Colonel Serhiy Zubarevsky has said.
"I think that the clearance of Donbas will cost more than one billion hryvnias. We will be able to speak about the full security for citizens there in ten to fifteen years," he said on the air of the Hromadske Radio on Sunday evening.
