Ukraine confirms readiness to open yet another checkpoint in Donbas in March – Sajdik
The Special Representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in the Contact Group on Ukraine, Martin Sajdik, has announced Kyiv's readiness to open a new checkpoint on the contact line near Zolote in Donbas in the first ten days of March.
Ukraine has confirmed its readiness to open a checkpoint for vehicles and humanitarian cargoes near Zolote in early March, if security guarantees are provided, he said, adding the decision was supported by the Luhansk militants.
Also, the conflicting parties' representatives in the humanitarian group have agreed to give access for the International Committee of the Red Cross to an area between two opposite checkpoints to identify and separate minefields.
At present, there are five open checkpoints on the dividing line: Maryinka, Zaitseve, Novotroitske, Hnutove, and Stanytsia Luhanska.
