Seven Ukrainian parties could qualify for parliament if elections held in mid-February - poll
If Ukraine held parliamentary elections in mid-February, seven parties could garner enough votes to overcome the election threshold and win seats at the Verkhovna Rada, the Kyiv International Sociology Institute said in reporting findings of a poll of 2,020 respondents it conducted in 110 Ukrainian populated areas on February 5-16, 2016.
In particular, the Petro Poroshenko Solidarity Bloc would get 16.6%, the all-Ukrainian association Batkivschyna 15.1%, the Opposition Bloc 14.2%, Samopomich 11.8%, the Radical Party 10.3%, the Svoboda association 6.2%, and Civic Position (led by Anatoliy Hrytsenko) 5.3% of the vote.
The poll was conducted using a stochastic sampling technique that is representative for the Ukrainian population older than 18.
The sample's statistic margin of error (with a probability of 0.95 and design effect of 1.5) is within 3.3% for figures close to 50%, 2.8% for figures close to 25%, 2.0% for figures close to 10%, 1.4% for figures close to 5%, and 0.7% for figures close to 99%.
