Ukraine preparing for filing claim against Russia to International Court of Justice on racial discrimination
The Justice Ministry of Ukraine is preparing for filing a claim against the Russian Federation to the International Court of Justice on racial discrimination in occupied Crimea and violation of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, Deputy Justice Minister for European integration Serhiy Petukhov has said.
"Along with three interstate claims filed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), we're preparing for filing a claim to the International Court of Justice on the Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and racial discrimination, as we have real facts of discrimination, in particular, Crimean Tatars on the territory of Crimea," Petukhov said in the parliament on Wednesday.
He said that Ukraine continues gathering proofs that human rights are violated on the occupied territory and adds them to the cases accepted by the ECHR.
