Chief of General Staff Muzhenko says Ukraine needs to become part of collective security system
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko stresses that Ukraine can protect itself only being part of the collective security system.
"If one compares the resources of Russia and Ukraine today, we're not the winners. The situation for Ukraine is clearly not advantageous. We can only defend ourselves being part of the collective security system. Even though we are able to repel aggression today, long-lasting military operations can become a serious problem. Only being part of the collective security system, we can ensure the inviolability of our borders," he said on UA:First National TV Channel on Tuesday night.
Asked about what he personally considers to be a victory of Ukraine in the current conflict, Muzhenko answered: "To my mind, this is the possibility of Ukraine's having the right to choose. It's also an awareness that we can defend ourselves and raise the country's prestige to a quite high level."
