Russia seizes 161 Ukrainian trucks following suspension of Ukrainian cargo road traffic
Russia's Ministry of Transport said that it has seized 161 vehicles operated by Ukrainian motor carriers, as at 14:30 Moscow time on Monday.
Inspectors from the Rostransnadzor (the Federal Transport Oversight Service) issue a protocol of the seizure of documents relating to the respective vehicle in the course of the transport control, drawing up an inventory list and placing the vehicles on specially designated parking lots, the ministry said. However, the ministry reminds that the restrictive measure does not affect the regime governing the cargo transit from Ukraine to Kazakhstan under the Russian presidential decree of January 1, 2016 on the transit road traffic bound to Kazakhstan and originating from Ukraine.
No cases where truckers acted unlawfully have been registered yet.
