Avakov: it's important for me to work and carry out reforms within this government
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has stated it is important for him to promote reforms within the incumbent government.
"The interior minister should do his job like every other minister of our government. And who said that I should be a convenient and comfortable minister for some esteemed officials from other branches of power? They have their own work, and me - my own," the minister said on the air of the Svoboda Slova program on ICTV Channel, asked whether he intends to resign for the sake of unity of the coalition.
"It is important for me to do what must be done, carry out reforms, change the situation within the incumbent government," Avakov noted in this context.
He added that reforms are often an unpopular matter.
"While I am strong, while there is the possibility, I prefer to carry out reforms, change something, do... And then, when the time to leave comes... we will talk about what was happening," he added.
