Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he hopes MPs will revisit his bill on abolishing parliamentary immunity from prosecution.
"This bill has received a positive conclusion of the Constitutional Court that it complies with the Constitution; now the Verkhovna Rada has the ball in its court. Public requests and public pressure are needed," Poroshenko said during a meeting with employees of Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
He recalled that he previously submitted the relevant bill to the parliament, and the Verkhovna Rada sent it to the Constitutional Court. Following the latter's conclusion, the parliament hasn't considered the immunity cancellation again.
