Flu death toll in Ukraine rises to 253

The number of people, who died of flu in Ukraine since autumn has risen to 253, the Ukrainian Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

"According to operative data, 253 flu deaths confirmed by laboratories, including three minors younger than 17, have been registered since the beginning of this epidemic season. Most flu deaths happened in Odesa region (40), Kyiv (29), Cherkasy region (18), Kharkiv region (15), Donetsk region (15), and Rivne region (14)," says a report published on the Ukrainian Health Ministry website.

The Ukrainian Health Ministry said on Tuesday that 246 people had died of flu and flu complications.
