Ukraine temporarily evacuates its embassy in Syria to Lebanon
The Ukrainian Embassy in Syria will temporarily move to Lebanon from March 1 due to the escalation in Syria.
"Due to the escalation of the security situation in Syria, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has decided to move its staff at the Ukrainian Embassy in Syria to Lebanon temporarily, from March 1, 2016," the embassy said on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
The staff will continue performing their duties as per Article 3 of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and, to that end, will stay in Syria as regularly as permitted by the security situation.
