Ukraine needs to annually invest $2-3 bln in energy efficiency - Zubko
Ukraine annually needs $2-3 billion for energy efficiency measures, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Utilities Services Hennadiy Zubko has stated.
"Today we estimate the energy efficiency market at $2-3 billion per year," Zubko said at a press conference in Kyiv.
He said that, on the one hand, the authorities are stepping up the activities of the Energy Efficiency Fund for preferential crediting of energy efficiency projects, and on the other hand, they are negotiating with international financial institutions, which can provide funds to Ukrainian banks to partially offset these loans.
"Ukrgasbank, Oschadbank and Ukreximbank have been issued UAH 1.200 billion in loans. But it is needed to attract additional funds, which will be cheaper than the current 22% rate of the NBU," Zubko said.
