Ukraine has huge potential, not fully using it – EU ambassador
Ukraine currently uses its potential not to its full extent, Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine Jan Tombinski has said.
When talking to the students of the National Aviation University in Kyiv on Tuesday, the ambassador said that he expected Ukraine to become stable and powerful, to use its full potential.
However, for the moment, this is a country, which is said to be boxing well below its weight class, Tombinski said adding that Ukraine has such a potential which could work for the good of many.
The ambassador also stressed that the country's leaders need to do much work for building state institutions.
Ukraine is currently undergoing a test, it is facing the national debt, but the formation of all the structures of statehood is a task for Ukrainians, which no one will do for them, Tombinski said. The EU can help to provide the tools, but it is the task of the current generation of Ukrainians, he added.
