Ukraine starts production of striking drones - Turchynov
Ukrainian enterprises, which are part of Ukroboronprom State Corporation, intend to start the production of striking unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and eventually for exports, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov has said.
"There is the demand for striking UAVs in our armed forces and I won't reveal the secret: we had a meeting with Ukroboronprom and we'll start such production at Antonov plant," Turchynov told reporters.
According to him, reconnaissance and striking drones could significantly improve the defense capability of Ukraine, and also become competitive in foreign markets.
"Because, unfortunately, today we have a real problem that we are limited in obtaining the samples of combat UAVs. And I believe here the unreasonable restriction of our country's in military-technical cooperation in part of lethal weapons is continuing," the official said.
