German, French envoys to visit Ukraine on Jan 18-19
The German Chancellor's and French President's special envoys, Christoph Heusgen and Jacques Audibert, respectively, will visit Ukraine on January 18-19, 2016.
The visit is part of the agreements reached during Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Holland on January 13, 2016, the Ukrainian president's press office said on Saturday.
"The meetings are expected t focus on ways to intensify the implementation of the Minsk agreements, in particular, complete cessation of fire by militants, the removal by Russia of heavy weaponry and the release of all hostages," the spokesperson said.
