U.S. to inform Ukraine of outcomes of Nuland-Surkov meeting
The United States will inform Ukraine of the outcomes of Friday's meeting between Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov, a Ukrainian diplomatic source told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Surely, our partners will share information on the meeting's details," the source said when asked whether Ukraine would be informed of the outcomes of the meeting between Nuland and Surkov.
Nuland and Surkov met behind closed doors at the Russian presidential residence of Pionersk outside Kaliningrad on Friday. Their conversation lasted for about six hours.
U.S. Department of State Spokesperson John Kirby said Surkov and Nuland met to discuss the situation in eastern Ukraine and the importance of the full implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine.
