The political subgroup of the Contact Group for Ukraine began negotiations in Minsk on Wednesday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry has said.
"Negotiations on the settlement in eastern Ukraine began in Minsk on January 13 with a meeting of the working group for political matters," the Belarusian Foreign Ministry tweeted.
The Luhansk information center said earlier with the reference to a source close to the negotiations that the Contact Group for the peace process in eastern Ukraine would begin its work in Minsk at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The source also said that the political subgroup would be the first to meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, and meetings of the other subgroups would follow at 1 p.m.
