Nazarbayev calls on Poroshenko to look for compromise on Donbas
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev called on Kyiv to look for a compromise on the situation in eastern Ukraine in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the Kazakh presidential press service reported on Tuesday.
Nazarbayev and Poroshenko "exchanged opinions on the current situation in southeastern Ukraine. The Kazakh president called for a compromise in resolving the conflict and relieving the tension between Ukraine and Russia," it said.
The two leaders also discussed other important issues and prospects for bilateral cooperation in using alternative trade channels in the new situation, it said.
The conversation was arranged at Ukraine's initiative, it said.
