Some 107 settlements remain without electricity in Odesa region - Saakashvili
Some 107 localities remain without electricity in Odesa region, Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili has reported.
"I've set up a headquarters for emergency response to the blackout and went to the districts to get acquainted with the situation and finish repair works as soon as possible. Now 27 equipment maintenance teams are working and nobody will be able to relax until things get better," the official said.
Earlier on January 8 Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk demanded the local authorities restore electricity supply in the regions where emergency power cutoff occurred due to adverse weather conditions.
"First of all, we are talking about Odesa, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk and part of Donetsk region," Yatseniuk added.
