Ukraine as UNSC member should tackle all international issues – Ukraine's envoy to UN
After Ukraine took up its duties as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, it should solve own problems in combination with international ones, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko has said.
"Ukraine as all members of the UN Security Council must bear a collective responsibility for the situation in the world. We must pay attention not only to own problems but to others – this is what we're going to do. The main thing is to find the right balance," Yelchenko told TV Channel 5 on Monday evening.
Yelchenko said that the global problems include not only Russian military aggression against Ukraine in Donbas and the annexation of Crimea, but also conflicts in Syria, Yemen, the fight against international terrorism, i.e. ISIS, as well as the deterioration of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
