Ukrainian army tells OSCE SMM about militants' tanks in two populated localities in buffer zone
The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone remains complicated, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's main intelligence department said.
"On December 29, the enemy conducted 22 attacks on the positions of ATO forces by use of small arms and grenade launchers, including 11 [attacks] in Luhanske, Novhorodske, Troitske, Novoselivka and Kamianka (the Sloviansk area) and eleven [attacks] in Opytne, Pisky, Maryinka and Novotroitske (the Donetsk area)," the department said in a report posted on the ministry website on Wednesday.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) has been notified of the presence of tanks and 122mm Grad rocket launchers - weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements - in the areas of Veselohorivka and Novoamvrosiivske, the report said.
