Cabinet decides on making Oplot tanks for army under state guarantees

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to manufacture aircraft and Oplot tanks for the Ukrainian Armed Forces under state guarantees, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has said.

"The Cabinet has made such a decision. I think we could do this as early as this year: actually for the first time in the history of Ukraine to produce new aircraft for the Armed Forces within state defense orders under state guarantees, including the production of guided missiles and Oplot tanks," he said at a meeting of the National Reforms Council in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian government provided state guarantees for loans to Malyshev plant (Kharkiv) in the amount of UAH 1.084 billion, attracted for the manufacture of Oplot tanks.

According to Cabinet decree No. 1083 of December 25, the fee for the guarantee is 0.001% per annum of the guarantee commitments.

To obtain state guarantees, the company must provide statements on the absence of debts on taxes and fees.
