Yatseniuk presents bill on Ukrainian countersanctions against Russia taking effect Jan 1 to Rada
If Russia imposes sanctions on Ukraine after the Ukrainian-EU free trade area goes into effect on January 1, 2016, the Ukrainian government will introduce countersanctions against Russia, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said in presenting a relevant bill at the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday.
"If this bill is adopted, the Ukrainian Cabinet of ministers will introduce analogous restrictive measures against the Russian Federation on January 1 next year. We will be protecting Ukraine's domestic market," Yatseniuk said.
