Avakov says necessary to convene Security & Defense Council in regard to Kominternove takeover

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said that there is an urgent need to convene National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) meeting in light of the capture of Kominternove residential area by the militants.

"We must produce a reaction immediately! Necessary to convene NSDC," he wrote on his Facebook account on Thursday night.

"By the night it was clear that this isn't an episode…Firstly, captured Kominternove, then Zayichenkove and Vodiane? And what's next? One Ukrainian village per day? You say Minsk process? The General Staff knows better," the minister said.

As reported, on Tuesday morning the militants seized Kominternove, near Mariupol, that is located in a "grey zone."
