Kyiv reports new strikes from Donbas militants

Militants in Donbas have made almost 20 attempts since Thursday evening to provoke Ukrainian servicemen to open fire, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine has reported.

The press center said on its Facebook account that militants fired small arms, large-caliber submachine guns and grenade launchers at our positions near Pisky, Maryinka, Zaitseve, Novhorodske, Luhanske and Kodema.

The press center also reported that militants used 82mm mortars to stage armed provocations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krasnohorivka until midnight, as well as twice in Novhorodske. Snipers were operating in Novhorodske, Luhanske and Pisky on Thursday evening as well, it said.

According to the press center, a minor armed clash broke out with a small group of militants near Luhanske, where Ukrainian soldiers opened small arms fire, forcing the adversary to retreat.
