Poroshenko hopes European Council will extend anti-Russian sanctions in December
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko hopes that the European Council, which is to meet on December 17-18, will extend anti-Russian sanctions, the presidential press service reported.
Poroshenko made a statement to that effect at a meeting with Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense Republic of Poland Tomasz Szatkowski, Latvia's Minister of Defense Raimonds Vejonis, Lithuania's Minister of National Defense Juozas Olekas, and Estonia's Minister of Defense Hannes Hanso.
"Poroshenko said that Moscow had not yet demonstrated any willingness to fully observe the Minsk agreements and expressed hope the European Council, which will meet on December 17-18, will extend the package of sanctions against the Russian Federation," he said.
