Parliament passes law on foreign broadcasting system
The Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday passed bill No. 2332a on foreign broadcasting system with 292 supporting votes.
According to the document, the multimedia platform of foreign broadcasting is created in Ukraine.
The purpose of creating the broadcasting platform is to meet the information needs of foreign audiences, especially Ukrainians abroad, as well as the protection of national interests outside Ukraine and the formation and support of the positive image of the country in the world.
The multimedia platform is created under the decision of the central executive power agency. It is created in the form of the state enterprise on the basis of state TV and radio company World Service Ukrainian Television and Radio Broadcasting Television and it is subordinated to the central executive power agency.
The platform broadcasts in Ukrainian and English and it could be translated to other languages.
