The U.S. Department of Defense assists the National Guard of Ukraine in order to strengthen and expand the capacity of Ukraine to respond to nuclear incidents involving the security of nuclear materials, primarily with a focus on nuclear power and the forces that ensure its physical security.
According to the press service of the National Guard, on December 11 the main directorate of the National Guard met with the representatives of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense to discuss the issues of cooperation and the development of training plans and plans for ensuring the security of nuclear facilities and materials.
"Measures taken in these areas will help integrate the system of nuclear security and ensure the readiness of Ukraine's response forces and raise them to a new level of efficiency," reads the report.
