Poroshenko sets up Council for National Unity, heads it
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has set up the Council for National Unity to facilitate the further consolidation of the Ukrainian society.
"To facilitate the further consolidation of the Ukrainian society on the basis of the national system of values, spiritual and cultural traditions, the development of the best measures aimed at strengthening the national unity and the development of the national consciousness, providing a system interaction of state authorities and civil society institutions on these issues, I order the establishment of the Council for National Unity as an advisory body under the president of Ukraine," reads a decree, posted on the presidential website.
The Council will consist of a head, who is the president of Ukraine, a deputy head (the head of the presidential administration), a secretary (the deputy head of the presidential administration) and other members who are involved in its work on a voluntary basis.
