President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree to celebrate National Police Day on August 4.
"Considering significance and role of the National Police of Ukraine in fulfilling the tasks on protection of human rights and freedoms, combating criminality, maintaining public security and order, the president set up a new holiday – Day of National Police of Ukraine," reads a report from the president's press service on Thursday.
Beginning from 2016, this holiday will be celebrated on August 4, on the day the president signed a law on the National Police.
Besides, Ukrainians won't celebrate Day of Police of Ukraine any more.
