EU to continue providing loans to Ukraine to restore Donbas – Tombinski
The European Union plans to provide loans to Ukrainian authorities to restore Donbas infrastructure destroyed due to hostilities in eastern Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski has said.
The EU will provide loans to renovate infrastructure: schools, hospitals and other facilities, Tombinski said at the eleventh international economic forum Discover Donbas in Artemivsk on Wednesday.
The diplomat said that among top-priority tasks to restore the region is the revival of local governance. He said that the EU has provided EUR 10 million for this purpose.
Tombinski said that the EU has provided EUR 1.5 million to support return of people to homes for bomb disposal teams and raise awareness about mines.
