U.S. may give Ukraine another $300 mln to support Ukrainian security sector - Biden
The United States may provide Ukraine with an extra $300 million to promote the Ukrainian security sector, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has said.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk in Kyiv on Monday, Biden said that the U.S. was now working on the issue of extending another $300 million to support Ukraine's security sector.
The Ukrainian leaders ought to follow recommendations issued by the International Monetary Fund and work with the international community in order to allow economic progress in Ukraine to continue, he said.
It is necessary to overcome the Russian aggression in the east and, at the same time, it is necessary to honor Ukraine's obligations as part of the Minsk agreements, the U.S. vice president stressed.
