Poroshenko to visit Turkey in Q1 2016, expecting 'breakthrough'
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will visit Turkey in the first quarter of 2016.
Poroshenko made the statement after he had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Paris, an Interfax correspondent has reported.
"I have had a very interesting and detailed conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The meeting was very frank and lasted for more than an hour," Poroshenko told reporters.
He said they had discussed a joint action plan for the future period.
"We have agreed on a plan of our actions and preparations for my visit to Turkey, which is due in the first quarter of 2016. We are expecting this visit to make a breakthrough," Poroshenko said.
In his words, it is planned to step up cooperation in the economic, political and security fields.
