Turkish foreign minister confident that relations with Russia to normalize soon
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu expresses confidence that a swift diplomatic settlement of the crisis in Turkey's relations with Russia is possible and reveals that an arrangement was made to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov early in December on the sidelines of the OSCE ministerial meeting in Belgrade.
"We are not supporters of any kind of tensions. We believe that we can solve the problem by diplomatic means," Turkish media cited Cavusoglu as saying at his meeting with Azerbaijan's Milli Medjis Speaker Oktai Asadov in Baku on Friday.
"We expect judicious remarks and actions. I have also been on the phone with Lavrov and we agreed to meet in Belgrade on December 3-4. I believe that the tensions will be reduced in coming days," Cavusoglu said.
