Netherlands supports extension of EU sanctions against Russia – Poroshenko
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said that the Netherlands supports the extension of EU sanctions against Russia due to Moscow’s failure to comply with the Minsk agreements.
"I got clear confirmation that the sanctions will continue in the situation where Russia does not observe the Minsk agreements," Poroshenko said after talks with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Hague on Thursday.
Poroshenko stressed that the European Union's decision to extend the anti-Russian sanctions is important for the establishment of peace in Ukraine.
Moreover, Poroshenko pointed out that he had paid some attention to this matter during the talks with the Dutch Prime Minister because implementation of the Minsk Agreements is important not only in terms of stability of the situation in Ukraine but also with regard to stability in the region and in the entire world.
