Up to 800 ex-military personnel to retrain under NATO sponsorship
Nearly 800 former servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be retrained under a NATO program in 2015, Adviser of Political Affairs and Security Policy Division at NATO Liaisons Office in Ukraine Christopher Staudt has said.
He told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday that this year the programs will involve 700-800 persons in 26 cities of Ukraine. The exercises will be held at military camps, social centers, and buildings belonging to various organizations including Yavoriv training ground, and also in Sambor, Stry, Rivne, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Odesa.
Staudt said that there will be 14 topical courses which will be taught in partnership with Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute National Technical University, the British Council in Ukraine, Bavarian House (Odesa) and the League of the Ukrainian officers NGO.
The program's budget totals EUR 540,000.
